Nobody’s Rose, consisting of Grace Braswell and Laegan Smith, became an official band in April of 2019. Although this is when the official name of the band originated, Laegan and Grace have been playing music together for years before. The girls met at a Pure Life studios summer program when they were twelve years old. Since then, they have been playing and writing music together all the while growing stronger in friendship. Over the years, the duo has learned to write and experiment with songs and music, bringing a soft and real aspect to their sound— writing coming of age songs true to who they are and to their experiences in life. Nobody’s Rose released their first EP, Holy Roller, in July of 2019. Since then the girls have been writing and living out their best lives together, alongside their best friend Audrey, as they approach the end of senior year and reach high school graduation. Nobody’s Rose has an indie-folk, front porch sound that both Laegan and Grace have developed throughout the years. Their songwriting style has a nostalgic and relatable feel— containing a mix of first love, heartache, and everything in between.
