Jess Jocoy: Nashville-based singer/songwriter Jess Jocoy is Americana through and through. With a crystalline veracity in her uniquely authentic songs, Jess constructs eloquent narratives that drift between the poetic and the conversational. 

        Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, Jess made the move to Nashville in 2014 with a altered perspective. Reeling from the loss of her father to cancer a year earlier, her struggle to overcome grief revealed itself in her music. Rather than running from that grief, she instead wove it into the threads of her songs, realizing that pain is a universal feeling, and not to be ignored. The next four years would find her learning to craft songs in a new light while finishing her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Songwriting at Belmont University. 

        By 2018, Jess realized it was time to take ownership of the emotions and experiences she'd collected over the years, which led to the release of her debut EP 'New Heart/Old Soul' recorded by Daniel Dennis at Prime Cut Studios in East Nashville, TN. Serving as a sort of introductory piece, each of the five songs on the record are both as intimate and resonating as the next. In June of 2018, "Long Live the Song," her anthemic ode to the abiding essence of great songwriting, won the nationwide Uber Music Movers competition where she opened for Chase Rise during Nashville's annual CMA Fest.

        As one of Nashville's rising underground artists, Jess Jocoy is in a constant state of learning, searching, and discovering. As the closing line of her song, "A Thousand Ways to Disappear" claims: "[It] gave me this new heart / and it gave me this old soul /  now I take them with me everywhere I go..."
